Mrs. Sellamma Thambipillai passed away at the age of 87 on 14th March 2011 in Thunnalai, Karaveddy, Sri Lanka.
Mrs. Thambipillai was the daughter of late Sinnathambi and Theivaanai and the daughter-in-law of Vallipuram and Theivaanai.
She was the beloved wife of late Mr. Thambipillai (Retired principal, Puloly J/Vellautham MV), loving father of Dr. Kathiravetpillai (Veterinary Surgeon, Colombo), Mrs Maheswari Mahendra(Retired Deputy Principal, Nelliady MMV), Mr.Thangavel (Former Mechanical Engineer, Peradeniya, Immigration officer Australia), Mr Gnanavel (Former officer, Central Bank, Colombo / Currently Document Control Manager at London 2012 Olympics), Mrs Thaneswari Arulgnanasuntharam (Former teacher, C/Bampalapitty Hindu College, Colombo), Dr.Mrs Sivaneswary Muthukumaraswamy (Former Chemistry lecturer, Jaffna, Batticaloa & Peredeniya universities, lecturer Defence academy Washington) and Miss Rajeswary Thambipillai.
She was the mother in law of Mrs Mallika Kathiravetpillai, Late Mr. Subramaniam Mahendra (Attorney-at-law UK), Dr. Baheerathy Thangavel (General Practitioner Australia), Mrs Kalanithy Gnanavel (former teacher, J/Sivaguru vidyalayam Udupiddy), Mr Kanahasuntharam Arulgnanasundaram (Civil Engineer Australia) and Mr Thambithurai Muthukumaraswamy (Advocacy Director Washington) and grandmother of Sanathana (Gayani) and Gayathri. She was the foster mother of Sunthararajan (Colombo).
Sellamma was the loving sister of late Mr. Ponniah, Mrs. Sivagamy Ramalingathevar (Retired teacher, Gnanasariyar College), late Mr. Sivagnanam, Late Miss Sinnamany and the sister-in-law of late Mr. Karthigesu, late Mrs. Sinnamma, late Mr. Kasipillai late Mr. Soorippillai, late Mrs Sinnapillai Ponniah and Mr S. Ramalingathevar (Retired Teacher J/Nelliady MMV)
Funeral Details:
Thursday, 17th March 2011 -- between 2pm to 4pm
at her residence and Verondai Hindu Mayanam,
Thunnalai, Karaveddy.
