Seemanpillai Manuelpillai (Chellar)
Born: 26th August 1914Died: 27th May 2008

Mr. Seemanpillai Manuelpillai fondly called Manuelpillai Master passed away peacefully in his sleep on 27th May 2008 in Colombo Sri Lanka. He is the Loving husband of late Catherine, beloved Father of Benedict, Anton, Jeyaraj, Selva, Cherine and Marlene, Father in Law of Chandani, Julitha, Easanekai and Arul Kumar. Grandfather of Niraj, Neelan, Kokila and Mythili. beloved Son of the late Seemapillai and Bridget Seemanpillai of Mathagal; loving brother of late Joseph Seemanpillai and Edward Seemanpillai late Mrs Elsie Saverimuthu, Mrs Hilda Kumar and Mrs Grace Antony.

Funeral will be held on Thursday 29th May at 3.45pm at Mount Lavinia Cemetery. The cortege will leave at 3.30 pm from Mahinda Funeral Parlour in Mount Lavinia.

Manuelpillai Master was a renowned English teacher of the two illustrious schools namely St John.s College Jaffna and Hartley College Point Pedro. He was a generous and gentle person whose life was spent in promoting education and sports. His passion for English, drama, Elocution, Cricket, chess and sports made him a teacher par excellence in the Jaffna peninsula. He is known to have spent many hours in training boys for elocution and cricket.

He was a student of St Patrick.s College Jaffna and he excelled in academic and sports fields as a student. He was a man of great faith who spent his prime years in teaching and community work. His last days were spent in contemplative prayer. His last journey was to the Holy land in November 2007 with his youngest daughter Marlene.

A caring and disciplined teacher who shared his knowledge with less privileged students. His life was dedicated to grooming men of truth and dignity. The family and his students salute a man of exceptional personal qualities.

May his spirit enjoy the blissful company of angels and saints in heaven.
May the aspiration of Manuelpillai Master become a reality to our people.
May his soul rest in Peace.

Mr. S. S. Manuelpillai (Retired Teacher of Hartley College and St. Johns College) passed away on May 27th 2008 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He is the beloved husband of Catherine, father of Benedict (Hartleyite -- Australia), Ranjith (East West), Jeyaraj (USA), Selva (Seylan Bank), Sherene (Germany), Marlene (GTZ), father-in-law of Chandani (Australia), Julita, Easanukai (USA), Arul Kumar (Germany), grandfather of Niraj, Nulan, Kohila and Mydili.

Cortege leaves Mahinda Funeral Parlour (Mt Lavinia) to Mt Lavinia Cemetery at on Thursday 29th May 2008 at 3.45 pm on 29th Thursday.
