It is a great pleasure to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the official launch of Hartley College website (HartleyCollege.org and HartleyCollege.com). Since the inception on November 07, 1998 in Toronto, Canada, the college website has become well-known around the world for connecting Hartleyites and world-wide PPAs, sharing many stories and supporting the College in many ways.

The mission of the website is to (i) promote the college as a whole as well as her students and teachers (ii) function as effective communication and information sharing tool between the college, students and PPAs and (iii) serve as a general source of information about the college. We have been successful in our mission - there are more than 1250 Hartleyites registered their information in the database from 33 countries, thousands of hits every month for information, thousands of emails were sent out using our email utility, many events and news were announced via our website, and remarkably the website has been running continuously without a single disruption. The website is a treasure for us which contains enormous amount of useful information about the college, her PPAs, her teachers and students.

Integral to the success of our website is the dedicated volunteers who have helped us to reach where we are now. First and foremost is our Webmaster, Sivaananthan who has done tremendous service in first designing the collection of web pages, then updating and maintaining the site on a daily basis very responsibly since the inception. We would like to acknowledge the webteam consisting of S. Sivaananthan, S. Anpalagan, P. Suthakar, S. Mathialagan, N. Nandan for their continued services. We also want to thank Mr. Kalathan for initially designing the home page of the website and Mr. N. Mohan, Mr. Harendran, and all the volunteers who helped us in bringing the web site up.

We would like to acknowledge HCPPA Ottawa Division for their initiative for the website and HCPPA Canada & USA for their moral support since the inception of the website. HCPPA Canada & USA does voluntarily support our website financially by paying a portion of the domain/hosting charges annually. They helped the webteam to officially launch the website on their 10th Annual Hartleyites' Nite in Toronto.

The help from Mr. Sivam Rajaram (Colombo) and Mr. Gunaseelan (Point Pedro) is very much appreciated. Our contact persons around the Globe, Mr. M. Atputhanathan and Dr. A. Shanmugavadivel (of HCPPA Canada & USA), Mr. S. Nagarajah, Mr. S. E. Manoharan, Mr. S. Sivakumaran, Mr. R. Raveendralingam and Mr. P. Harrichandiran (of HCPPA UK), Dr. Thavaseelan and Mr. Gunaratnam Thirukumaran (of HCPPA NSW Australia), Mr. K. S. Anandaganeshan and Mr. Kan Ranganathan (of HCPPA Victoria Australia), Mr. Nadarajasundaram (of HCPPA Point Pedro) and Mr. R. Kadamban, K. S. Vijayalayan, and Mr. M. Thiruneelakandan (of HCPPA Colombo), have made great contribution to the success of our website.

We will continue to provide services to Hartleyites through the website and in the future plan to open sections for teachers and a photo gallery of Hartley College. We will work more closely with the College and her PPAs.

We value your feedback, welcome your suggestions and solicit your contribution to provide Hartleyites and Hartley College with improved services and to make the website as one of the best tools to support our Alma Mater.
