FUNDRAISING FOR HARTLEY COLLEGE
HCPPA Canada & USA, along with the other PPA branches around the world support the
decision of Hartley PPA Global Trust to purchase the 5.6 lacham land situated opposite to the
school adjoining the house of Procter Jayasingam.
Five branches agreed to contribute towards the
total cost of SLR 3.6 million. The plot adjoining this land was purchased by PPA Trust in 2002
with funding from London branch on which now an auditorium is being built for Hartley (picture
above right) with funding from an NGO.
HCPPA Canada & USA agreed to raise and contribute
Canadian $6,000 towards this project. Hartley Trust under the stewardship of Mr.Shanmuganthan
is purchasing this land with a view of building a Vocational Training Centre with funding from
the government or NGOs. This centre will serve everyone in the greater Point Pedro/
Vadamarachi region. With this project Hartley will expand its services to the entire region.
