Toronto: Special Screening of Movie 1999 in Toronto
The movie 1999 is being screened in Toronto from November 13th to 22nd, everyday at 7:30 pm & 10:30 pm shows at the Woodside Cinema, 1571 Sandhurst Circle, Scarborough. 1999 was selected to open the Vancouver International Film Festival's Canada Images Program. Lenin M. Sivam's insightful drama explores the paths of three young Tamil immigrants growing up in a Toronto community grappling with gang violence in 1999. 1999 presents us with a fresh voice in Canadian filmmaking. Emotional and eye-opening, Sivam's film reminds us of the challenges and opportunities of immigrant life, and the devastating impacts of experiencing civil war. (More)
