The Excerpts from the PPA mails:
  • He also has a heart situation known as PDA, more commonly known as hole in the heart. So before looking at Kidney transplant, they need to do a surgery to correct this situation. He is already seen by Doctors from the National Hospital , and the surgery was delayed earlier since the Lab was not functioning. It is likely that he will have this surgery in the next 10 days, once Dr.Sheriff returns in a day or two and gives his OK that the Kidney in its current state will support the surgery. Since the surgery will be done at National Hospital , there will be no charges for the heart surgery. I promised to use my good offices and see that he gets an early date and good attention while he is there at the National Hospital . Once I know which surgeon will handle the task I will speak to people concerned.
  • He seems to have an additional complication with regard to his Kidney, an anomaly which is being investigated. Unfortunately his urine flow is so bad, they are unable to conclude the tests. They are awaiting the arrival of Dr.Sheriff to check on the tests and see how serous the anomaly is, and whether there is an out side chance that transplant cannot be done. We will know this only after Dr.Sheriff returns so I presume we need to wait till next Tuesday for an answer to this. We will take the next step after we know the situation on Tuesday.

... Shan of HCPPA Trust on May 31st, 2007

"I am going to discuss with my committee members and senior members to set up a temporary trust account, here in Canada, just for this purpose. Most likely we will have it ready by Saturday the June 2nd. We will send out the request to all members soon."... President, HCPPA Canada/USA.
"The fund has gone up to £1200.00. I spoke to Nilojan, his father & Shan. Please open your purse and contribute. It can happen to any of our family members. Please respond generously urgently." ... Secy of HCPPA UK.
"Principal confirms the situation of the student. In addition to Kidney problem he seems to have other complications. From initial reaction it appears that they will need Rs. 1.2 Million ( AUD 13,300). He is currently admitted at the General Hospital and the surgery would happen at the Apollo Hospital." ...PPA Trust
