The Hartley College Past Pupils' Association (Colombo Branch) has been functioning for the past 72 years. During its infant stages the Association grows under the leadership of some of the many distinguished past pupils (Prof. C. J. Eliezer. late Messrs S. Nadarasar. C. Loganalhan, A Navaratnam - just to name a few). During this period of time (Private/Assisted School days), the academic growth was well looked after by the Board of Management (Methodist Church). The main activity of the HCPPA Colombo Branch was confined to fellowship.
Since then the management of Schools has gone through very many changes. Currently our Alma Mater is in dire need of external assistance in order to maintain and promote the high educational (both academic and extra curricular) standards, which have been developed and nurtured by the past Principals and Teachers. Hartleyites are duty bound to step in, at this crucial stage to ensure that the future generations of Hartleyites would continue to enjoy the same, if not better, privileges and traditions. It must be mentioned here that other branch Associations in Canada/USA, UK, Sydney and Melbourne along with HCPPA Colombo, are working with renewed vigour towards this end.
Under the circumstances of last decade of 20th century, HCPPA Colombo had to, diversify its activities.
From January 2001, it started to release its News letter named Colombo Hartleyite.
